Notice how he doesn't look as freakish as the other iconics who make you cringe with their weird armor fetishes and buckle/spike love?
He looks ... dare I say ... more classical?
Maybe the other iconics will follow this new trend of returning to a more classic look and appearance.
What do I mean classic? None of that wacky bs in the PHB, like pieces of armor stitched together, all the spikes and buckles ... armor and weapons and clothing looking the way it was supposed to but still looking good.
I mean, come on, if you see a guy in plate mail wielding a greatsword, even if it looks like ordinary plate mail, he is still intimidating.
Hopefully this iconic heralds a new age of better art.
