D&D 3E/3.5 D&D 3.5 Ways to Increase Hit Die Size?

Does anyone know of a way to increase the size of a character's Hit Die? I'm trying to make a build using the Prestige Bard, using Melee, and the d6 hit die size is not helping my cause.

Any Template that turns you into an undead. Or, just give yourself 16 CON. Same health, roughly, and qualify for more feats.

Quote from another Thread Here:

Masters of the Wild expands off of Toughness with three other feats:

Dragon's Toughness
Prereq: Base Fort +11
Benefit: +12 hp
Special: You can gain multiple times

Dwarf's Toughness
Prereq: Base Fort +5
Benefit: +6 hp
Special: You can gain multiple times

Giant's Toughness
Prereq: Base Fort +8
Benefit: +9 hp
Special: You can gain multiple times

Sure, they didn't get the update to 3.5, but my gm allows 'em anyway.

I suppose you could investigate becoming a dragon as well. Don't have my books to look it up but I distinctly remember one of the Wizard books having a prestige class that enabled you to become more dragon and I think increased your HD that way as well.

It doesn't help any with your spellcasting or Bardic powers though, so not really going to help with the Bard concept.

Someone will correct if I am wrong I'm sure.

It's Races of the Dragon, if you take the racial Substitution levels to Half Dragon your HD go up one class?

Trick is, if you take the 2nd level, then you are losing out on character progression because you have to take levels 3 and 4 immediately.

Did I get this right?

The half-dragon template says the HD change is only for Racial hit die, but most races that adopt the template have 0 unless they are a monster. Making it effectively useless. The only class that seems to emulate the HD change is the Dragon Disciple.

But there's a few things confusing about the Half Dragon that causes me to scratch my head wondering how to utilize it properly, regardless of its source.
