OOC: If roll would be the same (ie. 1d20+5), then you can keep the original roll regardless of the attack type. If the numbers are going to be different, then obviously you'd need a new roll. In this case we'll use your original attack and damage rolls, which is indeed a hit.

Also, we're waiting on [MENTION=4936]Shayuri[/MENTION] and [MENTION=2710]jkason[/MENTION] to finish out the round.

In the twinkle of an eye, Aridha collapses into the shape of a shaggy grey wolf and gallops towards the orc that's fighting Gwendolyn. She leaps up against the orc, biting savagely and threatening to drive it back!

(Wild Shape as minor, then move to J8 avoiding OA, then Savage Rending! On a hit, T is slid one square to the east, opening up space for Gwen to shift, so we can flank next turn.)

OOC: I guess you missed the post or didn't read the sblock in #466, but the bombardier is dead after Druthruss's last attack, which is why Korash had to retcon actions for Vatan.

Weel Naxel, human artificer

As the new player takes the field, the wild-eyed garbage picker's agitation continues. He wanders away from the wall, and this time he begins talking to the brightly-decorated javelin he holds.

"Bytsab, You shouldn't taunt Skitgami that way. It's all easy-peasy to sit and judge, but you haven't done anything but watch and at least she tried and ... oh! Yes, yes, you should do something. We'd all like to see it."

The javelin rises out of his hand, a greenish film spreading across its surface. As the man watches with a delighted grin, the weapon launches itself at the newcomer. It lances through the warrior's shoulder as if his armor were fabric and the javelin an overgrown needle, and the greenish coating spreads down his front, hissing and steaming as the now-clean javelin returns to its owner's hand.

"Oh, well done, you!" he cheers the javelin with a wide grin.

[sblock=actions]I've been looking, and I don't think 4e still has the firing into melee penalty. If I'm wrong, I probably need to change this up, probably to Magic Weapon instead.

Move: J4
Standard: Scouring Weapon on Kranaak

Javelin: +7 vs. AC, 2d6+4 acid damage

Melee or Ranged Weapon

Target: One creature

Keywords: Acid, Arcane, Weapon

Hit: 2[W] + Int modifier (+4) acid damage, and the target takes a -2 penalty to AC until the end of your next turn.

Attack: 1d20+7 (+4 Int, +2 proficient, +1 versatile expertise)

I messed up and put a comma where I should have had a semi-colon, so the results look odd, but they add up to a 20 to hit and 6 damage:

Scouring Weapon attack; damage (1d20+7,2d6+4=[13, 7], [1, 1, 4])[/sblock]

[sblock=resources used]Encounter: Scouring Weapon[/sblock]

Another round goes to the good guys...

Aridha moves up in her wolf form and scores a hit on the terrorblade, opening a bloody gash on its arm and shoulder. The orc regards the wolf only for a moment, and then continues to press the attack on the female. With a great roar the orc hefts its sword high and and brings it down hard. Gwendolyn is still too quick for it, though, as the blade hits nothing but air. The orc catches her eye as she ducks the blade and shows his yellowed tusks in a wicked grin that tells Gwendolyn her luck may be running out.

Pier's spell begins to sap Kranaak's strength, and the great orc growls in protest. Vatan moves up and scores a good hit, followed by a magical javelin from the creepy newcomer. As the acid burns his skin, the orc sets its eyes on Weel. From nowhere, it plants a huge boot square in Vatan's chest and sends him flying backwards next to the artificer. The sound of the battle is silenced under the orc's roar as he moves up and swings the axe with reckless abandon. Thankfully, Vatan and Weel manage to dodge the fray, as if any of those swings had connected, they'd have surely been cleaved in two.

[sblock=OOC]The bad guys have been rolling really crappy in this encounter. With the exception of one minor hit, every attack roll I made this round missed!

[sblock=Aridha, Gwendolyn]Aridha's attack is a miss, so Gwen will have to set up the flank in a different direction. Great position-controlling by Shayuri![/sblock]

Korash

First Post
"Ach laddy, if ye feel safe ta be close ta yon beasty, get behind him. If not, get ye back!!" Vatan will call out to the newcomer as he moves to the side. He swings his sword at the brute before him, and follows it with the axe from the other side. Unfortunately the sword misses by a mile and the axe bounces off the armour. "Stand still, ye bloody cur!! Ye will feel tha bite o' me steel yet!!!"

[sblock=Actions]
At will: Mark the beasty (K)
Move action: Shift to K5
Standard action: Reaping Strike vs K

Druthruss is a little confused as to what to do. He doesn't feel confident enough to fire into the fray and is not really strong enough with the axe. He will grab his axe and move up to H8 so that if need be, he can give his second wind to anyone who may get into trouble. Whilst there he will have a quick look at the orc body to see if there is anything useful about him.

Move: H8.
Std Action: look over body.
