What I love are all the whiny babies who piss their pants everytime someone says "4e." Hoping it won't be so is not going to make it go away. These whinners are more annoying that the "here comes 4e" threads are alleged to be.

By my completely unscientific estimate -

Aug, 2005 - Aug, 2006 - Mike Mearls finalizes and polishes the 4E work that has been going on since 3.5 debuted.

Aug, 2006 - Aug, 2007 - Playtesting takes place.

Gencon 2007 - 4E is announced.

Aug, 2007 - Aug 2008 - Final tweaks and inevitable "Countdown."

Gencon 2008 - 4E debuts

And the whinners? They will bend over and buy 4e, despite their whinning now. And they will then loudly proclaim it is - THE BEST EDITION EVAR! Bet me on it.

Well there was about what, a 10 year gap between 2nd and 3rd edition? Like was previously mentioned, they won't come out with a 4th edition until the flame of 3.x has died down... doesn't make sense, they'd just be fighting themselves for sales.

Something to file away in the back of your minds is this little factoid. Hasbro owns Wotc and if Hasbro becomes disenfranchised with the sales numbers of 3.5 they will likely force the 4th edition to appear sooner than Wotc may have originally intended. Hasbro makes the ultimate call here, not Wotc.

Those who are genuinely concerned about 4e should look to Hasbro for indicators of the apocalypse, not Wotc.

Not me! I'll wait until Dragonsfoot launches its v.3.5 boards and then acrimoniously attack 4th Edition, vowing to NEVER play it, casting apsertions on WotC for this "treachery," its "ill-concieved money grab" and how "they ruined the game!"

All the while extolling the strengths and purity of v3.5 and how it is the best edition of Dungoens & Dragons EVER! Then I'll log in to eBay and spend outrageous amounts of money on those precious v.3.5 materials that are so hard to find. Again, griping about how flawed 4th Edition is.

Then I'll play Neverwinter Nights on my computer, laughing at the poor saps playing Diablo II.

I say we form a corporation and buy out WoTC from Hasbro. Who's with me?? I'm currently selling stock at $100/share (man what a deal!)

So swing the rope, or is it the leash? :)

Funny, I tend to find people who post calling people who disagree with them "whiny babies who piss their pants" are far more annoying than the "here comes 4e" threads that pop up every few weeks as a random easily debunked rumor

Moderator's Notes
GVDammerung isn't the only one who's been insulting in this thread, but this is the first one I saw.

Folks, stop it. If you can't post without mocking other people, then you can't post here. This board is supposed to remain civil and friendly. Take your insults elsewhere.

I mean it.
