D&D 5E D&D 5e Night Below Conversion Question: All the Magic Loot!?

IME the main issue with magic loot in 5e is the enhancement bonuses, especially to hit ac and saves (not damage) - most especially ac.

So I would take away almost all of these. They are unecessary and have potential to damage the games. If you want to take an easy path to keeping them make the weapons only + to damage, or enchanted but with no bonus.

That's pointless. Because for the vast majority of books 1 & 2 in Night Below? You're fighting stuff that you'll hit easily enough anyways considering the easy mode of where 3x-5e starts granting the ability score +s.
So you've got a +x weapon? Big deal. You've only hit the target by one or two more than you would've already anyways.... A hit is still just a hit. Likewise with damage. OH NO! You've caused 1-3 additional HPs worth of damage to a monster that's going to die anyways....
But players, even 5e ones, LIKE getting those +x weapons (always have) & few stop to consider that they didn't really need that bonus.

I like this point.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I'll stick with mostly leaving it alone because I want to see what happens with the following idea too :)

.. And in fact is likely to self-correct as the characters can't carry it all. They'll have to find somewhere safe to leave most of it.
