Lili's eyes go wide at the mayhem and the nasty creature trying to come through the portal while Vassuki jumps into action. The mini dragon quickly flies over to the fairy and puts his wing down so she can step on his back.

"What are you doing?" she says, "We can help here."

The dragon rolls his eyes. "If the Oaf the Queen sent isn't going to take care of you, you know I will. Get on princess before something terrible happens!"

"But something terrible IS happening and we should help! I can take care of myself!" The dragon rolls his eyes again and with a quick motion trips Lili onto his back.

"Heyyyy..."

With that Vassuki is up and flying and Lili is hanging onto his neck. The dragon chokes out, "Are these your friends? If so, we should get them and all do as the barkeep suggests."

Oz's eyes twinkle after Adal kisses him and takes her spear. He sidles up to Lilliana, and grabs the pseudodragon by the tail to prevent it from flying off. "Hey Wings. If I wasn't under a geas from the Queen, I would, well, I would be doing something even more stupid than usual. However, I am here to protect you from whatever dangers there are. Despite what Toothy here thinks. Yeah I am talking to you you flying rat. You talk in your sleep. Anyway, do we flee, or make a stand with these fine folks? It does seem as though there is evil on the other side of that portal."

Shandrizar is supremely put out that even simple spell is beyond him, even a cantrip would seem a Herculean endeavor at this point. Something tugs at him telepathically, intuitively sensing the young Graydon is in trouble or soon to be. Buffeted by folks fleeing the tavern, he manages to slip thru the door before it closes. Oh, for a pair of hands!

Hovering behind the rest of the group, he gapes a bit slack-jawed at the array of guardians before the portal. That little fox creature beyond the glowing portal frame...it wasn't what he thought it was? If so, they were in big trouble.

OOC: Shandrizar suspects the creature is an arcanaloth. Can you confirm or deny that [MENTION=6781406]Unsung[/MENTION]? Would you like dice to be rolled?

Shandrizar would know from experience, no doubt: yes, it is an arcanoloth, and of the beetle-like things, the larger ones are dergholoths, and the smaller are mezzoloths. Slamming down the emptied tankard, Graydon rose. "My thanks for a better option, Barstle; I hope you all come through this hale and healthy. Now I'll do my best to do the same!"

With an incomprehensibly muttered word, the young wizard vanished- only to appear at the far end of the bar, toward its back rooms. "Anyone unwilling to get brutally murdered by fiends, this is the way to go. Rusty,, come!" He gestured toward the little device as urgent as he thought he could manage, without drawing the incoming horror ' attention anyway- and an additional gesture for Shandrizar as well, putting him safely in a subspace pocket until they had left the room.

It stands close to ceiling height in the Jilted Planes-- a bit over nine feet fall, and nearly as wide.

Oz begins to whisper something. The others in the bar can almost hear a tune just on the edge of their hearing. Picayune as an ethereal creature almost sees something exiting Oz's mouth, heading right to the gateway.
