[D&D 5E] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr (IC)

OOC: You get advantage on the roll, if you want to see if you crit. You definitely hit with the 22. Also, I think you have a greatsword, don't you?

"Fire at will!" no time to think, no time for distractions. Fire, reload. Fire, reload. Simple movements, practiced hundreds of times, since the days of the war. This was not the time for elaborate trick shots. This was the time the put three furious giants down before they could do too much damage.

OOC:
Corilo shoots the ogre in front with his action and with his bonus action.

Gnorth realized he had been spacing out a little. That much water....

Gnorth pulls out his warhammer and takes it into two hands, looking to the ogre who is struggling to get out. "Knock knock," he yells as he swings.

With the ogre in the cave mouth falling to Gnorth's warhammer, the small gnome attempted to hit the next ogre in line with another bolt of fire. He managed to singe the creature, which bellowed in fury.

Round 4

GM: Initiative
Corilo: 14
Lorenzo: 13
Gnorth: 12
Scheppen: 11
Brue: 9
Ogres: 9

Corillo continued his fusillade, feathering the next ogre in line with two well-placed quarrels. Lorenzo was finally blessed with his Lady's luck and speared the ogre through one kneecap, causing it to fall to one knee. Seeing an opening, Gnorth gave forth a mighty war cry, spun his hammer in a circle, and brought it down on the back of the ogre's head, smashing it to a pulp. "Much crush, yes!?!"

With the second ogre down, Boddynock sent another bolt of flame through the cave mouth, but only managed to slightly singe the creature's hands. Brue gripped her greatsword in two hands and readied to attack the ogre if it came within reach. Apparently slightly more intelligent than its kin, the ogre heaved a javelin in the direction of Gnorth, the mighty slayer of ogres. The weapon flew true and struck the half-orc squarely in the chest; the force of the impact rocking him back on his feet and nearly toppling him. Its success apparently smothering the brief spark of intelligence it had previously displayed, the ogre picked up its greatclub and charged into the cave mouth, squeezing into the opening and standing over its dead kin, yelling "Mog smashie!" As the creature came within reach, Brue leveled a vicious slash across the creature's midsection, by luck or happenstance it avoided being disemboweled.

OOC: Gnorth took 13 damage from the ogre's crit with the javelin.

OOC: Opportunity attack on the second ogre as it moves the dead ogre out of the way and then repositions itself in the cave mouth? Not sure whether it comes within reach then moves out of reach when it ganks the dead ogre by the feet.

Brue hacked at the second ogre with her greatsword.
