My favorite of all these has always been Caldwell. Though Elmores a close 2nd.

Caldwell's cover of DL1 is one of my all time favorite pieces ever. It's still how I view black dragons, and why they are one of my favorite.

And I don't have to say how his dracolich painting is one of the most iconic of all time

The artist I associate with my oldest, fondest memories of the hobby is Jim Holloway, who drew memorable illustrations for the 1982 French edition of D&D.
