Regdar - male human Fighter
Eberk - male dwarven Cleric
Aramil - male elven Wizard
Lidda - female halfling Rogue

For the other two d6s you'll have to raid that monopoly set you bought earlier in this thread!

Hmmm... Wonder why Aramil instead of Mialee? Unless they think more boys will want to play male characters or something? One would think it would be a better idea to keep it 50/50% in this day and age when it seems like more women are playing than ever.

Because I'm getting such a feeling as well?

The reports I saw about it initially strongly implied it should have those rules in it, but we have to wait and see.

Or pester our favourite WotC Rep until we find out, of course!

I don't know why you get that sinking feeling, because the list of components includes an expanded rulebook:

4 double-sided map tiles
4 character cards
7 dice
Quick-start Rulebook
Adventure Book
Expanded Rulebook

I'd assume that the expanded rulebook would include character-generation rules.

i think the expanded book will contain things like monster stats, spells, and equipment stats...maybe feats or skills explanation too.

i'm not sure it will contain character generation either... but it doesn't seem too hard to use the quick start character sheets as a template to make your own Basic character.
