Where are getting the hover off the ground idea? The 5e Kraken does not have a fly (hover) speed.

I found a reference to the Krakentua from Kara Tur at http://i.*****.com/HofrM1m.jpg which I think should just be a variant of a Kraken, given that Kraken are now more unique in forms.

... that looks basically like a giant mind flayer... I don't like it.

The Kraken society plays a role in Storm King's Thunder.

If one of the upcoming Adventures is something of a seafaring adventure and features Lantan (Broadway or Catacomb?) I wouldn't be surprised if they feature the Kraken society.
