Wandering. Not lost. (He/they)
Trevor, from the WotC twitter account, just posted the following image with the quote "go for the eyes".

Are they sure that's obscure enough reference from secondary media? I mean, I could probably dig up something for the original Curse of Azure Bonds -- the PC version, of course -- not the published adventure that even fewer people would associate with D&D.

The Baldur's Gate games did very well in their day and appear to be doing quite well with their recent rereleases. There's a good percentage of the target audience who will recognize the reference.

And for those who don't, presumably the comics won't just assume anyone already knows who Boo is and why he's awesome.

"Camaraderie, adventure, and steel on steel. The stuff of legends, right Boo?"

Are they really bringing Minsc back? Awesome. For myself, and I'm sure plenty of others, Baldur's Gate served as an introduction to the concepts and mechanics of D&D, though I didn't play the real game until 3rd.

In the Murder in Baldur's Gate adventure, there was a statue of a bald warrior holding a tiny hamster. In the middle of the marketplace.

I'd read that (and I haven't read comics since the 90s).

BG/BG2 and the Icewind Dale games (esp those, I like making my own parties) were some of my favorite CRPG gaming moments. I wonder if they are going to do "new" stories or just a comic adaptation of the BG saga?

" Magic is impressive but now Minsc leads. Swords for everyone!"

It seems like new stories in the ~1486 time would make more sense for combining everything. I believe they've mentioned the comics as tying into the Tyranny of Dragons story.

Maybe Minsc and Boo were time-hopped and presumed dead. That would explain the statue, which was one of my table's favorite moments of MiBG.

I recognised it *proud*

I even started playing the first Baldur's Gate a few days ago.
Wish I started with that game.

Damn, Baldur's Gate 2 was confusing and hard for someone who didn't know anything about the whole D&D system. It was my first introduction to the genre.
I even played it on Core Rules because that seemed to be the way to go.
No max HP at level up, not auto-learning spells, etc.

I didn't even know until recently that Baldur's Gate was part of the D&D universe.
Imagine my surprise when I noticed the name on a map a few months ago :)

It's odd, the G+ post has a bunch of "Spelljammer!!!" responses. I get that Boo is supposed to be a Miniature Giant Space Hamster, but I don't think a pic of him is meant to represent SJ... lol
