D&D Dice Survivor! Yeah!

Vote one die off the next poll.

First round to clear the list of dice from any non-dice :p

I hope the d12 wins the whole game, it's the most intriguing shapes of all! Does anyone still has a link to the page where the universe is speculated to have a d12 shape?

What no D20?

Maybe I should decide what to vote by rolling on a D12 and taking the nearest number!

But no D3 must go - its a real half-orc of a die, pointless, ugly and stupid!

Personally, I like the symmetry and form of the d12, but in the current game it is borderline useless. You could do nearly as well using 2d6.

I like d12s for miscellaneous randomness tables, e.g. wandering monsters. In most contexts I think 12 roughly equally likely possibilities is a good setup, or fewer if some of them are twice as likely as others. Replace it with 2d6, and you have 11 outcomes with significantly unequal probabilities. Nowhere near the same.

I'll probably be favouring d12 to the end, because it can simulate so many other dice easily. (In other words, 12 has a lot of divisors. Only 20, among your options, has as many.) I voted against caltrops this time, but I think I'll generally vote lower-numbered dice out before higher-numbered dice, largely for the simulation and ease of rolling. (I never did hurt myself on a d4, but I do recall having a lot of difficulty rolling it.)

For those who object to the d10 not being a Platonic solid, why does that matter? It has the symmetry needed (face-transitivity) to guarantee fairness. Why is vertex-transitivity an essential property of good dice?

I'm voting off d3, not because it is "imaginary" but because if your randomness is only one-two-or-three you might as well just pick. d3 damage? Just say 2 and speed things up. The spell causes a rash that lasts d3 days? Call it 3 days. The elderly coot only had d3 teeth? Close your eyes, visualize this old fart and give him the number of teeth you see.
