D&D minis - how are they painted

First Post
How are the D&D minis painted. I mean, physically, in the creation -> packaging process? Is there a painting machine that does this?

I'm just curious. Thinking of a little machine with paint brushes or paint sprayers picking up each individual mini and painting it then putting it down just kind of amazes me.

The text on the Entry Pack states that they are hand-painted... so, if by 'little machine' you mean 'sweatshop', well, I assume that's right.

I can't see any other way to do it. The complexities of having a machine to do it would probably be insane since the figures are fairly detailed and each type is very different from others.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let's not go throwing around accusations of "Chinese Sweatshops" unless you have incontrovertible evidence of it. I'm not comfortable making accusations regardless if the company is "mom & pop" or WotC.

The miniatures are painted by hand.
The miniatures are painted outside the U.S. where labor costs make pre-painted miniatures cost effective.
I am unaware of which country is being used, and they may in fact use labor from more than one country.

I hope this answers your question satisfactorily.
Game ON!
