I recently posted a thread...

"D&D Next is a mess"

In which I said I thought Mike Mearls didn't have a clue.

i am sorry I said that. I was wrong. Through reading the replies I got and through further posts by Mike on Legends and Lore and some more searching and reading. I see now that I was over reacting.

I am going to buy the next version of Dungeons & Dragons and try it.

That's all :)

Yup. The Next edition of D&D will at least be purchased and tried by me. I learned my lesson with 4e which I bought but only played a couple of sessions of when if first came out and we didn't even have a slight grasp of the rules. Then I started playing it with my daughter and found out how much fun it was. All that wasted time just because I was a stubborn durp.

D&D Next is my current. :)

The playtest has a lot of rough edges and a number of things that bug me, but it's still my favorite edition of D&D to date. If Wizards junked the 5E project tomorrow, I'd take the playtest docs, do some polishing and tweaking, and use that as my D&D of choice.

I have enough loyalty to D&D that if it is playable by me I'll buy it. I do though feel I have to vote with my wallet if the game can't be "arranged" via options to be something I want to play.

I've DM'd for 20+ years. At the end of the day, D&DNext appears to be the edition that will provide the most fun tabletop experience for my group and my family. They have my business.

Ditto.

With the 5th Ed chassis, and all my previous edition goodies, I'm set.
