D&D (2024) D&D Pre-orders; this is sad

Have you never visited itch.io?
Nope. Cause the only way to get there would be through a computer that I would have had to buy and an internet connection I would have paid for via getting a job and doing some work for which I would be paid a certain sum of money based upon the job being asked of me. And thus the Socialist society I was hoping to be a part of to do so was not able to make that happen for me. ;)

I have. I have played so many RPGs from several countries.

Did you know Capitalistic Societies/Countries aren't the only ones to make Roleplaying Games?
Then why aren't you happy just playing those? Rather than getting upset about Dungeons & Dragons?

You don't HAVE to play Dungeons & Dragons you know. Or even think about Dungeons & Dragons. Or worry about the people who make Dungeons & Dragons. You can just go live in whatever non-Capitalist country wish and play those games all you like.

Seems to me to be a big waste of time worrying about Capitalism if you are able to work, play and live without it.

OK.

I see the emoji, but just in case you genuinely want to know about this:

So, FYI, yes, there are quite a few games produced by socialists and given away free to those who say they can't afford to pay for them. These include games you have almost certainly heard of, as some of them have gone on to be quite successful despite not prioritizing a make-money-at-all-costs model.

Cut-your-mother's-throat-if-needed is not the only business model that works, although those that follow it like to shout down any suggestion to the contrary.

Cool. If it works for them, then great! And if the people who wish to play those games are happy playing those games, then great! Everyone has something to play.

But just because a person can play those games doesn't mean ipso facto they get to play ALL games the same way.

It's a work in progress, but I'm learning to find less sadness and anger in what I don't like about the hobby, and trying to be more positive about the games and experiences I do enjoy.
I've been ignored by folks here, got a mod warning on my account ... and that's not the person I want to be on here. I don't want to be the person who makes other people have a bad time on here.
So while I don't like the direction of WotC or the revision, I'm tired of giving them the power to make me a grumpy person. I'll just get excited about Dragonbane or Fabula Ultima or Call of Cthulhu or Soulbound, etc.
