[D&D] Question about Scribe Scroll and Craft want feat?

I have a 10th level cleric with a lot of down time going on until this Friday's game. I have to write about what he has been doing and also write about what he might have purchased.

Anyways I'm creating scrolls, almost 1 of each of the first 3 levels (as backup), I have about 36k gp saved up at 10th level.

The Feat says (its spell level) X (its caster level) X 25gp. Spend half of that total in gold and 1/25th of that total in XP.

Ok so to cast a 3rd level spell I would have to be 5th level? It's spell level is 3 right? Ok so that would be 15 x 25 = 375/2 = 187.5 (round up) 188gp and 15xp to creat this scroll.

Did I do this right?

Looks right to me. Remember that if you want you can increase the caster level to be up to your own caster level. And that, of course, increases the price.

Don't you have anything better to purchase? For that klind of cash there are a lot of permanent items worth having.

Also: You may want to reconsider the caster level on some of those scrolls: You'll get better mileage out of a scroll of divine favour that was scribed at caster level 9 (which will then grant you +3 luck bonus) instead of caster level 1 which only grants you +1 luck bonus. The price? CL*SL*25 / 2 = 9*1*25 gp / 2 = 112 gp and 5 sp each, but in some cases, I'd find it worth the extra expense. scrolls of Dispel Magic are similarly scribed at a higher caster level (in this case 10) so they would cost 10*3*25 / 2 = 375 gp each, but with the increased chance to dispel nasty stuff.

On the other hand, some spells are never worthwile to boost; typically healing spells are usually just scribed at their lowest caster level, as the price hike is rarely seen as worthwile for a few meager hp.

Other things affected by caster level when scribing to consider are range and duration. Good Luck!
