I almost voted elf because I hate all the subraces (What's wrong with a standard elf?), but the Halflings are less than desirable as well. And, since this is technicaly just the races themselves and not including all the subraces, Halflings get the short end of the stick.

I voted halflings. Again. Can't believe half-elves and half-orcs didn't make the cut. How can people think purely in game mechanic terms!

We need to keep humans. Otherwsie, there's no one for the players to relate to or identify with.

Elves have got to go. No one can play them right -- their lifespan makes them too alien, and there's no good reason a 300 year old elf isn't like 70th level.

Elves
The dwarves of 2nd Edition! The elf stereotype is wearing so thin. They are so overused, and the line-up of subtypes for every conceivable environment is a constant frustration. Take them all, including the multitude of "turned good" drow elf concepts I have to sift through every time I want to run a game. For a race that is so often portrayed as being substantially less numerous that the rest, there sure are a lot of these suckers.

And, again, looks like Human's gonna stick around longer.
