This is for the Complete Book of Elves!

For some reason, most of the most obnoxious PCs I have run in to have been elf characters. I also remember a time in 2nd edition where everyone was making elves.

I am also inclined to agree that, for a race that has a long lifespan and are noted for being 'timeless', there sure do seem to be a lot of different subraces...

For all these reasons, elves get my vote.

OK, everyone seems to be voting from the gut. But I take the high moral ground, and say I shall not be swayed by subjective impressions of the characters who have come before me. Nay, I shall vote from the perspective of game balance.

Dwarves are a LA +1 race in v.3.5.

Out they go.

Why play humans in a fantasy setting?

Because, erm, I´m a role-player and I am bored by the stereotypes that elves and dwarves essentialy are?

Because I dislike fantasy that´s chock-full of outlandish races with no humans in-between?

Because I get another feat?
