Because, erm, I´m a role-player and I am bored by the stereotypes that elves and dwarves essentialy are?

Because I dislike fantasy that´s chock-full of outlandish races with no humans in-between?

Because I get another feat?

Yeah! I mean, why does every dwarf have a cheesy "Scottish" accent?!?

The last campaign in which I played a dwarf they all had cheesy outstate-Minnesota accents. Of course, I am voting the elves off, because in that same campaign they all talked like stoners, although thankfully they were relatively well groomed in spite of this.

Because if I almost always played humans when they sucked mechanically in 2e, I'm certainly going to play them when they're pretty good in 3.x.

Dwarves, of course. Disgusting little gritsuckers.

And if you need more reason for it:

Using plural z and @ instead of a. The stereotypical 13-year-old counter-strike player. All I'm waiting for is a line like "dw@rvez pwn and roXor d00d. Elfs is teh sick and n00bs". It's stuff like this that would make me lose my faith in humanity.

And I'm not goint to side with anything that is supported by that kind.

For all the dwarf-lovers I have this

For some reason, most of the most obnoxious PCs I have run in to have been elf characters.

I had another experience: dwarves were those that were the most disgusting and annoying. No social interaction, racial prejudice out the ears, powergaming till kindom come, the whole range.

Yes, what with the Grey Dwarves, Moon Dwarves, Mist Dwarves, Valley Dwarves, Dark Dwarves, High Dwarves, Sea Dwarves, Wild Dwarves, Wood Dwarves, Sun Dwarves...

And let's not forget the half-dwarves.

Dwarf players just go crazy about subraces. It's all about the subtle nuance of the dwarf.

Well, dwarves are right behind elves when it comes to number of subraces. Arctic, Gold, Grey, Shield, Urdunnir, Wild, Mul (the half-dwarves you were talking about), Dream, Durzagon, Deep, Mountain. And then there's the fact that even one dwarven subrace is more overpowered than all the elven subraces combined.

Of course, the dwarf fanboys make sure that noone will learn of this by starting witch-hunts against the evil elven subrace conspiracy. Reminds me of TV and people bashing roleplaying games (the US) or computer games (around here), citing all the bad things they "really" cause to move the attention away from their own shortcomings.

We all know that the short ones will follow right behind. I can hear snow white calling already. :p

Gotta admit, the faerie folk must go,
Because me has never seen one without a bow.
Anemic, Bulemic and ears that always show,
Yup them faerie folk must go!
