D&D Resolutions

Only buy gaming books we're going to use immediately and not books we might use someday.

Play through adventures faster and add splats/character options slower.

My resolutions are to:

1. Get a Shackled TWERPS campaign off the ground, either locally or online.
2. Run an episodic D&D 3.5 campaign before the year is out.
3. Buy fewer RPGs and more boardgames.

My group's resolution is to play a number of old RPGs that we used to long ago that are collecting dust on the shelves (Boot Hill, Star Frontiers, Tunnels & Trolls, etc.)

After comparing my 2007 goals to reality, I made 2 resolutions for 2008:

1) have fun: 50% D&D and 50% other

2) run Savage Worlds Necropolis

2007 got too mired in D&D for my tastes. I want to run & play other RPGs. But, D&D is the lowest common denominator, so our group sort of defaults to it. I enjoy it too--I even ran it about 3 months last year. But, I need more variety; and I aim to get it. I even wrote my resolutions in my 2008 gaming calendar so I would remember to pursue the goals.
