D&D (2024) D&D species article

CreamCloud0

One day, I hope to actually play DnD.
I wonder how many decent cross-species combos are going to be available from the 10 species that are currently in the 2024 PHB. As far as I can tell (and I could be wrong about the number), there are 45 cross-species combos here.
Aasimar, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goliath, Halfling, Human, Orc and Tiefling.
just playing around with combining the base species concepts here

aasimar + dragonborn = eastern dragon based dragonborn or 'lóngborn'
aasimar + gnome = cherubs? cupids? just some variant of a celestial spirit entity
goliath + tiefling = oni

Detects the broad presence of some types of intentionally made traps somewhere vaguely near you within 120' in any direction. Which...you likely already knew if you wanted to cast the spell in the first place. It doesn't find where they are however, or how many there are, or their range away from you, or a vague direction.

It's about as useless a use of a 2nd level spell slot as there is. I am pretty shocked WOTC didn't fix it for this edition.
Okay, I'm vaguely remembering that now. Yeah, really bad. 🙄

I am slightly confused by your post.

The ability does specifically give you advantage on the save to end the grappled condition. Edit: Oh, okay, went and reviewed the condition. You can escape as an action, or you can wait til the end of your turn for the saving throw.

Yeah, I can see just changing this to advantage against grappling to cover the start, the action, or the save. I don't think that would be too big of a change.
Where does it say, you can end it at the end of turn?
