D&D to TWERPS and Risus (not kidding)

I recently (read as "at 8:30 AM this morning" for convenience) re-purchased copies of TWERPS 2e, TWERPS Magic, and How To Do Everything Better. The plan is to (no kidding) convert D&D races, classes, and feats into TWERPS traits. And a similar process is underway for Risus. Why?

Well, long story short, I work in IT -- for the USPS. As you can expect, it's a pretty demanding job (especially at this time of year). This leaves me some time to game but not nearly enough to get my "20 minutes of fun" out of anything more mechanically complex than Risus, TWERPS, or The Window (anything heavier and all I get is approximately three hours of rule crunching).

So, I still want to game and I love my job (I also need it). I've decided to move my gaming online (I'm subscribing to Skype Premium and investing in a good headset, as well as running OpenRPG). In this light and given schedule constraints, lighter is the only way to roll. So I'm getting back into TWERPS (and other light systems mentioned above).

Here's the thing -- I have hundreds of dollars tied up in D&D 3x sourcebooks. I don't plan on selling any of them (as work schedules may change someday) but I can't really use them as-is for reasons previously mentioned. When I get free time and I'm not actively gaming, expect this thread to fill up with D&D rule conversions for both TWERPS and Risus.

After giving it some thought over lunch, I think that for simplicity's sake, I'll be sticking to conversions for use with the Core Rule Books (notably, the PHB) and The Shackled City-specific rules. Look for thread updates starting next weekend.
