D&D General D&D Variants Forum

I guess the question is what constitutes "all of 5e"? Just the two versions WotC put out? Other games that use the 5e rules?
Well, this is just my opinion.

The forums is called Dungeons and Dragons.
So its where I go to discuss D&D these days. (I don't frequent a lot of the other forums.)

Would I count ToV as D&D? Probably, it wouldn't hurt my feelings any to have a discussion there.

Yikes, there's always someone to make something ten times more complicated than it needs to be!

For the purposes of this forum, D&D 5E (whether 2014 or 2024) from WotC goes in this forum, as does official licensed stuff like minis and movies and stuff, and everything else goes in either TTRPG General or Older Editions, OSR, & D&D Variants. As someone pointed out, the subforum isn't called "5E" it's called "Dungeons & Dragons".

If it's an edge case which covers topics which belong in more than one forum, just use your best judgement like always.

I'd have preferred D&D variants to be separated from D&D, but if you are including 5e variants with Older versions of D&D...I think that blurs the lines a LOT.

If this is the D&D forum, why make it so older versions are not included, but 2014 is (as it is now, officially, an older version)? Is it merely popularity?

Why combine variants of ALL editions of D&D but separate the D&D to different forums? Once again...merely popularity rather than any sort of logical arrangement?

I liked having the older versions of D&D as a specific subforum for this forum...and then you can have a forum specifically for variants (of Older and Newer D&D, so OSE and S&W in the same forum as TotV and others).
