D&D website Up-

Saw the race and class info.

The race info is another thing that that sounds less than impressive. At least, they dropped the idea of racial classes- I despised monster classes . Hopefully, they'll drop the idea of new/improved racial abilities with level as well.

Personally, I would like to see the following with races:
- drop all non biologoical abilities from race
- ditch immunities and give good a strong save bonus (see Sean K Reynolds Fewer Absolutes)
- institue some kind of environment/culture packages so that you get something along the lines of environmental races in UA.

As for the class info, we really don' learn anything, but I am intrigued to see what they have planned.

well, it's all responding nicely for me.

Poor IT guys probably had to take the DI test server they had in the back rack and load the entire web site on it.

It's now performing very well! The Dragon and Dungeon subscriptions might be worth the price of admission alone because I can print anything I want from these pages for hard copy.

One key advantage we saw to this system was that it made it much easier to find room for new races without resorting to the kludgy and awkward mechanic of level adjustments. If we spread the tasty magical abilities of drow out through their levels, they could start at 1st level on a par with other character races. Races like the githyanki already anticipated some of that idea by granting new spell-like abilities at higher levels.
In a fighter’s hands, the longsword is the queen of the battlefield and the greatsword is the queen’s executioner. But each of the other significant melee weapons offers the fighter unique advantages and opportunities. For the first time, you’ll be able to say “I’m an axe fighter” or “I’m a flail fighter” and that will mean something cool.
This is good stuff.

Guest logins only, right?
Seems so. From the sign up page, you should be able to use your forum account, but when I try to change Guest to Knight Otu, it reverts right back to Guest when I go to the password page. And when I log into the forums and then go to the page, I still get the prefilled Login form.

I'm liking what I've read so far...

Can't wait til May! (Dammit, once again I know that I'm going to be buying every dnd thing in sight for months...)

First issue of the Dragon comes in October according to the site, so that's as long as you need to wait to see the online Dragon.

For now, everyone logs in as a quest so that everyone has access to all parts of the site. In the future, there will be parts of the site that are by subscription only.
If you are already registered on the forums, your already registered the site as well. If you want to be able to see the articles etc, you have to use the guest sign in.

Thanks for the confirmation. :) I've already read the on-site articles with the guest account, I just figured I'd try it with my forum account as well (as the site did say the accounts are linked/the same).
