[D&Dg] Greater Deities - Natural 20 every time?

When I read it (and I'm not saying I'm right as it has been a week or so) I thought that the aut o 20 was like they were rolling a nt 20, all they needed was a roll to confirm the crit (assuming that die roll was a attack roll).

I'm not happy with this mechanic. I think it is sloppy and the bonuses mean more then the die roll. Not that there's a simple fix (well, maybe my d30 system you'll find buriend in House Rules!! :) ), but until I actual use them in combat it's hard to say what is the best way.

What bothers me isn't the fact that the deities are nearly unbeatable to mortals. It bothers me that, depending on how you interpret the rules, one of two situations occur:

1) Greater Deities can't do squat to each other, or..
2) Greater Deities have coin toss' chance of killing another Greater Deity

Like Crothian said, the bonuses involved are so huge that the roll of the d20 wouldn't matter much even if they didn't get the automatic 20. Maybe they need a d100 system instead. ;)
