D&Dish Fonts for Making scrolls and things?

Anyone have a set of fonts that can be used for putting together scrolls and various things that might be used as handouts?

For example, in Keep on the Shadowfell there are some "letters" the PC's may find - id rather be able to hand the players an actual letter of sorts.

In the past ive done this, and usually hand-written them but id rather find techy ways to streamline such things.

Thanks

Go here: www.abstractfonts.com. Click the "Categories" link on the left side. Choose the "Calligraphy," "Celtic," "Old English," or "Script" links, or any others that strike your fancy. Browse through the resulting menus.

Here's another enormous font site structured by category: http://www.dafont.com/. Many of the "Gothic" and "Script" subcategories are worth browsing.

ObCaution: Occasionally in your font browsing you may stumble across a font named with a rude words that is not necessarily Grandma-friendly. I haven't uncovered a way to prevent this. Grandma would also disapprove of anything in the "Adult" category, so I recommend against straying thereto.

A much more specialized selection of fonts, most quite appropriate for scrolls and various things, is available here: http://fonts.lordkyl.net/. Click the "The Fonts" link on the left, then click the "Display by Category" link that appears.

ObCaution2: Fonts are fun. Fonts are, for some of us, addictive. Try not to have more than 500 installed on your computer at any one time... you may encounter a performance hit when starting your OS or opening programs or the font menus therein.

ObProtips: You'll notice duplicate fonts across the various sites. Some have different names, and might be of differing "quality." I don't think you can get a virus from a downloaded font, but exercise appropriate caution in any case.

Have fun! HTH. HAND.
