D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

(OOC: Zaeryl was listening for something of that general sort. Let me know if he heard it)
OoC: Zaeryl clearly heard Michael asking a question, in the tone of voice he often used when trying to build a consensus. Precisely what question was asked was hard to make out, however.

Or, to be more blunt about it, Michael is clearly Up To Something. Some of the others might be, too...Zaeryl could tell by monitoring body language.

*Zaeryl sighs and leaves the soldiers momentarily to head over to the group. He turns back occasionally, always ready to zap the soldiers if they try to escape.*

"So, let us see what you made of the soldiers' words then. What is your current assessment," he asks the group, to see what they think of what they have heard.

Eternity looks back to the three soldiers, keeping her eyes on them while Zaeryl approaches. While she does not want to kill them and would sooner just let them go, it would probably be best not to have them try to escape. That'd just force everyones hand and would most likely be messy.

The soldiers rested quietly, glancing over at the party from time to time. It seemed that they sensed that their fate was being discussed, although their faces did not betray any understanding of that discussion.

"Everybody seems to agree that we're not killing the soldiers, and due to not having any sensible place to keep them at, we'll pretty much have to let them go.", Almayce says.

"Next, we should probably either head towards Duvik itself while keeping low profile, or somehow try to contact the priests that are supposedly treating the diseased and try to get more information, hoping that we could trust them a bit more than those men. I'm not going anywhere near the camp, so we can either wait for them to come out or tell our soon-to-be-former-prisoners to relay a message that we want to chat with them, if we're not heading to Duvik right away.", he continues.

"If we want to continue this investigation umolested, we cannot let them go. We may need to detour back to those shepherds to have them watch these soldiers, or at the least we can subdue them in a relatively secure location and tell them that when they wake up, they are free to return. This would give us enough of a head start to do what we need to do, and then after that, they would be able to return to their troops, likely no worse for their little rest from duty and maybe even promoted for 'valour' or somesuch."

"If all you want is a lead, I think Ironwolf took their shoes already. We can go down into Duvik or the stockade tonight -- and it'll probably be easier dodging people at night than in the day. They're not going to start stumbling around barefoot until dawn."

ooc: That's consistent with Ironwolf's intentions, though the last time I mentioned it we didn't have time. He would have deprived the prisoners of their boots at some point during the trip, to reduce their opportunity to escape.
