D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

"The mindless walking dead, which we summarily dispatched with no issue, followed by an incorporeal shade, which drained our essence into darkness. Doubtless there are more undead down there and possibly some sort of source of the corruption."

[SBLOCK=OOC: ] No worries on time without the Inertial Armour. As for three hours, all I can say, and I don't know if you've played Shackled City, but the Jzadirune dungeon in Life's Bazaar is huge and we kept meticulous track of time for every action and search check we took, and we actually cleared it in under two hours ;) (the dungeon must have had at least thirty rooms, some of them large, with long tunnels) I don't want to have to annoy anyone else in the group and try to argue time though, and I'm quite content to sit back and use whichever timing you'd prefer--just tell me and I won't pick Inertial Armour. If I had had Inertial Armour activated and was keeping track of time so my spell wouldn't wear off, I am convinced I could show how we could not have spent even thirty minutes down there in total[/SBLOCK]

"It's all right.", says Michael feebly.
"When the bards ask, I distracted it with my high-pitched war squeals while Eternity killed it."
He laughs hollowly and tries to remember anything he learned about undead things like that.

Michael's Knowledge: Religion Check (1d20+5=12)

"I will ride when we're ready."
The horse tries to sidestep away from Michael, but discovers he has cleverly pinned it next to a tree.
Michael grins triumphantly at the horse.
"I'm learning, demon beast."

Seeing that Michael wants to tough it out on his own horse, Ironwolf mounts up on Dream.

"Let's ride."

ooc: Ironwolf is also pretty reliant on buffs, for what it's worth. His will normally last 30 minutes a shot.

*Zaeryl nods as they head out. He wonders if the Bainlunders will be dead by the time they return. Honestly, he doesn't much care, as long as the undead force doesn't somehow grow more powerful...But the town of which Ashin spoke needs them now.*

(OOC: Actually, I think everyone in the whole group except Hulgyr will probably use buffs at one time or another. I guess I'm going to take Inertial Armour--don't hate me for micromanaging time now though :()

(OOC: I would think that undead-loving priests might pray at Dusk (life's end) or midnight (the witching hour) for spells ;))
OOC: Gliranites (or Almayce) aren't undead-loving. They're just trying to be efficient and practical, which would mean morning as prayer-time IMHO. ;) And yeah, most of the group probably buffs. :D

IC: "Alright, let's go then.", Almayce says when Michael seems to want to continue forward. First he will dig up a piece of chalk though, and write a short message in common somewhere near the cave and mostly safe from weather: "Undead around. Don't move the light ball."

"Lead on." Eternity says to Ironwolf. She makes sure Kailie's saddle is fastened tightly and climbs up ready to ride towards their real destination.

--- THE OGRE'S CAVE ---

Tomas listens carefully to the description of what was found below. He appears thoughtful, and asks a few questions. He appears pleased that there seems little likelyhood that the undead within will escape.

"I think we shall have someone keep watch on the cave. At least until we have decided what to do about it."

"I understand you are heading east," Tomas says when it becomes clear the party is planning to move on, "to the Stonepike mountains. Mikal has offered to guide you to Kinthriver, on the far side of the hills. He is familier with the territory and can show you the fastest route. Of course, if you would rather ride alone, by following the River Roars and the edge of the lake, you will get there."

Outside the cave, the party finds their mounts gathered in the bowl shaped clearing. Across the narrow gap leading through the rock, a crude barrier has been placed, to keep the horses in and other things out. The saddles and gear have been stacked just inside the entrance to the cave.

[sblock=OOC]I think time in dnd can be a bit compressed. I'm sure that if you added up all the actions taken and the time needed to do so, the total would come to under half an hour. I suppose that I tend to think a fair bit happens bewtween those actions; people stop to consider things, discuss options, adjust their straps, take a drink, take a breather, go back and look at something a second time etc. We probably aren't all going to agree on this, and I do apprieciate everyone's willingness to go along so we all get along. However, I'm sure we can find a happy medium that works for everyone. So I'll run things a little leaner (injecting a sence of urgency into posts will also tend to prod me to do so). Running a game that people enjoy is more important to me than how I keep track of time.[/sblock]

"I think expediency would be welcome, as would Mikal's company." says Eternity as she struggles to saddle her hourse, seeing that the gear has been removed and stacked nicely.

Busy packing his horse, Hulgyr was ignoring most of the conversations.
I rather stayed to whipe out the rest of that cave. But i think they be right. We have a goal in this journey. But i swear i will return and finish what we started here.
While packing Hulgyr also remembers the piece of breastplate armor they recovered from the cave. He study's it and discusses it over with the rest of the party, trying to determin wheter it is more than an ordinary piece of armor.

When Hulgyr is finished packing and evaluating the breastplate. He checks if the rest is ready to go.

--- THE BAINLUNDER HILLS ---

Tomas helps out as people pack their gear and saddle their horses. Eventually everyone is ready, and the party, lead by Mikal, heads out through the gap and sets off eastwards. The day remains overcast and grey. But the rain holds off for the moment.
