D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

Eternity thanks Tomas for the warmth and the food, eager for something beyond the darkness of the cave and the cold that almost touched her. She looks to Michael, sad that he had to suffer so much at the hands of the shadow.

(ooc: Divine might wouldn't do much for you with only +1 cha bonus. Divine Vengeance might be fun against all these undead. Crafting is also fun, with all the improvements to the Craft Point rules lately I think it can be viable.)

Hulgyr grunts at the sight of Thomas. He helps Micheal to sit down at a warm spot near the fire. "When will we continue our journey? Maybe we better rest here first for Michael."

ooc: "It rather depends how you want to develop Michael. For crafting, i'd take craft wand to make those sweet wands of cure X wounds and wands of typical cleric buffs. For combat basicly any fighter feat will do (weapon foces, cleave, etc). "

*Zaeryl nods.*

"Restoring his strength should likely be done soon. He will be a burden until then. Perhaps if we are lucky, one of the clerics does not pray for his spells at dawn. We haven't been paying much attention."

(OOC: Whereas I actually do not suggest Craft Wand unless you just want to sell them to the newbies. Craft Wondrous Item and Craft Arms and Armour are the two big ones that help you get expensive things you want to have for half price)

"So are we staying here until we get Michael back in shape, or do we try to make our way forward?", Almayce says. "It might be safest to wait here until he's alright. We could run into basically anything on our trip.", he continues and shrugs.

OOC: Craft Wondrous Item might be useful, if you have the spells you need to craft the items you want. Almayce took it, but he's headed for Mystic Theurge (and Lichdom? :p), so he'll probably have enough spells to craft nearly anything.

No idea when Gliranites pray for spells. Nobody's bothered to make an official decision, so I'd use dawn.

"Let's ride. Dream has a military saddle, if Michael's horse does not we can switch for the rest of the day. He can be safely secured in the saddle, and while we take a minor risk we gain several hours of time. That could be invaluable, depending on how things turn out."

ooc: Since you have power attack, I'd recomend Cleave. An extra attack is almost always welcome!

"Hmmm...this is also a good suggestion. Considering all the options, if they cannot restore spells until the morning, we had best do as you suggest."

(OOC: Cleave...hmmm--it only works if your character is the one to drop an opponent, and there has to be another one right next to you. How many times is that going to happen for a cleric, though? More useful for Barbarians)

*Sigh*

Michael grunts, and starts hauling himself to his feet. It's a ponderous process, and ends with him leaning heavily on his horse.
"Can someone get a lump of charcoal and at least write "Keep out!! Evil Cave!!" on that door? We should block it off, but I don't have the ability right now. Does anyone else?"

(OOC: Craft Wondrous Item looks like the leader to me as well. Just gotta go read the crafting rules to make sure I understand what I'm getting into.)

"Just do not block it off such that we cannot return and slay the undead. Undead also live forever, and if we do not slay them, then some time in the future they shall be unearthed to kill again...besides which there is usually a source that causes the corruption that leads to ordinary mortals' corpses becoming creatures of the night, and the source of evil may not be so easily confined."

--- THE OGRE'S CAVE ---

Tomas follows the conversation, but says nothing for a while.

Micael said:
"Can someone get a lump of charcoal and at least write "Keep out!! Evil Cave!!" on that door? We should block it off, but I don't have the ability right now. Does anyone else?"

"I can pass word on to the Lodge, and they will ensure that people around here know to avoid this place."

Zaeryl's mention of undead also gets Tomas's attention.

"Can you tell me more about what you found down there?"

- OOC -

RA: OK, Zaeryl is now 3rd level. Powere points spent today are gone, but he can use new power points gained, new skill ranks etc. If people have longer term spell or manifestation effects, then I will keep a more accurate account of time. But generally, I don't think the one hour per encounter rule was far off in this case. There didn't seem to be any great sense of urgency and the characters spent a fair bit of time poking around and discussing things. So three hours down below in this case seems about right. Which would make it about midday now.

ajanders: Sorry, can't really help. I'm hopeless at feat/power/spell selection. It drives me crazy. The next time I have to generate a character, I'm going to use a random generator :] . Or play a barbarian.
