D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

Ironwolf flushes, chagrinned.

"I tried naming it, actually. It's crafted from a fragment of my personality, as you may know, and for a variety of reasons I decided to have it incorporate my sense of resolve. The problem is, it has a tendency to plant its feat and refuse to change it's mind about anything. It decided that it would 'keep' the name Ironwolf and that I should change my name. Naturally, I refused. However, if I call it any name other than Ironwolf, it completely refuses to cooperate with me for days."

"So now I call it 'my psicrystal' or 'hey, you.'"

ooc: Thanks for the straight line! :D

Michael cocks his eyebrow again, something he's been doing a lot on this trip.
He'd somehow thought the demons would be the bizarre thiings on this trip. Apparently the psionic wizards are determined to outdo them.

"It sounds like we can't just send the stone into Duvik, then. Pity."

Michael loosens his hammer in its belt loop.

"I'm going to take a moment to commend us collectively to Sela. Anyone wishing to join me is welcome."

He clatters into a thicket.

"If Ironwolf's stone won't go, we can send in ours. It is less stubborn and more foolishly brave, to the point that it would be eager to do so. Furthermore, if the physical stone is destroyed, the personality fragment still drifts on the astral flow and be collected and reinserted to a new stone without any significant opportunity cost."

Eternity is amused by Ironwolf's story and puts a little more thought into imbuing some of herself into a similar crystal. Perhaps one day, when she meets the right crystal. "As far as I understand the lay of the land, thanks to our guide. We are still above a valley in which our destination lies. Would it not be a bit premature to send out your scouts now before having a look down into the valley ourselves?" she says.

Hulgyr doesn't really pick up the signals Mikal is sending to eternity. The gift seems as a random nice gesture, nothing more.
The talk of the psychristals is even more wasted on him. While the others talk of things far out of Hulgyrs worldy view, he silently overthinks the events to come and draws his own conclusions based on the facts at hand:
"So we have this army here. And there spose to be demons an walking corpses. And thers a lot of silver mines. An then thers these stone priest men. We only spose to find out whats up with the demons an corpses, right? I don't really get what it all has to do with eachother. Maybe the rest knows whats best to do. Hulgyr is confused."
