"Nice to see your coming along Rinya, I could use the protection", Gardner says to the redhaired warrior. Stopping at the door, he turns and looks at Richard and Lucien. He says in a teasing tone, "You two keep your eyes open, especially you Richard."

"I suppose I'll leave this here," Rinya says as she puts her longspear in the closet/impromptu armory, "it'll just get in the way in the taverns." She then follows the rest out the door.

Richard feels like glaring at Gardner, but he catches the glint of a smile on the rogue's face and smiles in return, saying nothing. Realizing that his all-nighter has put a bit of an edge on his temper, Richard decides that it is time for breakfast.
He looks about to see who passes for a cook in this household, willing to pay for a heavy platter of eggs, cheese and darkbread if he can find it.

Rinya, Ridik, Gardner and ao'Thuir

The morning was well and ripe by the time they got to the docks. The sun shone high above them and the day was crisp and clear. The docks themselves were full of hustle and bustle. Orussus after all was a city of trade. This was most clear now in the dizzying busyness that they beheld.

It was Gardner Monroe's streetwise skills that led them to their target destination. The Green Sailor was an unimpressive sight in a place that smelled unimpressively of fish and sweat. The puking sailor on the hanging sign seemed more a warning than a label.

Their entrance was unnoticed, strangely enough. The four companions may have looked strange, their composition and garb being different from the norm. But it appeared that such things were commonplace enough to warrant an apathy wrought of familiarity.

The Green Sailor's main room was small and smoky. Barstaff were still cleaning the many empty tables. The patrons, three older Men, two male young Half-Orcs and a grizzled female Halfling lounged in the bar. A pair of gnomes chattered on a nearby table. The bartender was a bored looking dwarf, red-bearded and with a grimace that alluded to late night drinking habits.

Lucien, Richard

It was when the others had left that Heather and Ignatious came out of their bedroom. Heather let her husband speak, surprisingly enough.

"My wife and I have talked this matter over and we've found merit in your group's suggestion. We have need of you to go to the manor and inspect it for us.

It's a ways away, but we could hire a carriage to take you there. Even with the carriage, it should be a three day journey.

Just look around, inspect the place and get back to us. If there are any 'problems' that you think you could deal with, we can pay you extra for them.

You have salvage rights, as long as we get to see what you have... and perhaps pay you for them if they interest us.

However, anything that belongs to my grandmother must remain in our possession. We* feel that we can trust you in that regard, as we can with many things in truth.

What say you?"

* Sense motive DC 15
[sblock] When he says "we", he really means "I". Heather seems displeased with the conditions of the offer but Ignatious seems sincere. [/sblock]

Richard smiles at Ignatious' words, looking to Lucien for confirmation of what he is sure he understands from the timid man before them.
(OOC: Sense Motive: 18)
In his current mood Richard is pretty happy he 'caught on' and feels for the badgered husband.
"I'm sure the others will be glad to hear that. When they get back we'll decide how to proceed, er... right Lucien?" Richard's interest in Lucien's opinion is quite honest as he realizes he's jumped in where the smoother 'investigator' would normally handle things.

After entering the place, Ridik lead teh group to a table and ask for a drink. He then talk to Gadener. "I think you should be the one to ask. I don't mind much to do the talking, but I think it is more your speciality. Anyway, people have a tendency to not trust goblin... I must tell here, they doesn't seem to much minding about my presence, genrally, there is always half the room throwing looks at me, and none of them are welcoming. That's the great thing about books, they doesn't mind if you are a goblin, a human or an ogre. Everyone can open them, except that if a wizard have put a trap on it, but that's another matter."

Lucien smiles at the couple. "This news makes me glad, to have you accept and trust us means a great deal. I'm sure the others will have no problems with these terms so I will say that we conditionally accept your proposal. We will get started as soon as the others return from their trip. Is there anything we can do to help you out here in the meantime?"

ooc: Sense motive = 3. Lucien has no clue if he's missing something or not.
