d20 Alien Legion

Has anyone heard of a publisher getting rights to Alien Legion? I read some stuff ages ago about unspecified negotiations getting derailed due to an impending movie deal (that still hasn't materialized). Has anyone house-ruled Nomad into their future game? I guess Warlord Ralt's stuff could fit the bill.

Here's a great Star Frontiers/Alien Legion site with summaries of every issue. Reading those just gave me a hankerin' to blast some Harkilons... :

I would love AL as an RPG. I love the idea so much I want to marry it. :\

The other comic I've wanted to adapt for RPG use is Strikeforce Morituri.

I was the one who talked to Carl Potts about it back in 2002-ish, and yes, he told me that his lawyers were advising that he not issue any licenses because it would be more attractive as a movie property *without* them.

Yeah, I know---that's contrary to what I'd expect, too.

I'd still love to do it, though.

On a related note,

Mainframe Studios (Reboot, Beast Wars, etc...) had an option to do an animated series for Alien Legion a couple years ago. Nothing seems to have come of it though. I went to there site and had to dig through their press releases to find any mention of it. Too bad, would have been interesting.

I know that I'd love to see an AL RPG ... Gareth, have you considered talking to Carl again, especially in light of a movie not coming out? If anything, it could possible generate interest (especially if you used Serenity, Trek, Star Wars and the multitude of Sci-Fi licenses as examples ;) ). I know I'd love to get a copy ... hell, I wouldn't mind working on it ;)

I would be interested in taking part in this in some form, if only as a playtester. I have enjoyed the AL Comic from its inception, and always thought it would be an excellent Rpg. Please contact me here if any news is available.
