D20 Apocalypse: Anyone have it?

I'd recommend Sidewinder: Recoiled if you want to look at a decent alternative to the wealth system - their Cold Hard Cash system is good, and you could use almost everything from that book in a post-apocalyptic scenario.

Kaos: Ouch.

Von Ether: Very cool! Thanks for the information. Heck, I'm running a fantasy-world game, and I could still see a lot of that stuff being helpful.

Well, its about time.

If anyone wants to ask me any questions about it (or if the other designers want to join in the conversation), I'll be talking about it at my forums. You can get to them by following my sig link or by going to www.darrindrader.com and clicking the FORUMS link.

What's wrong with these forums? ;)

Isn't that the same thing they asked me on the WotC boards?

The answer is simple. I don't want to have to check three different boards to do a simple Q&A. I'd much rather direct people from other boards to my boards where I can handle it all in one place.

That's not to say that I'll avoid answering questions elsewhere.

Though on second thought the mutation rules make me feel like they could have just squeezed it in a couple more pages for d20 Future.

Perhaps WotC's "toolkit approach" for d20 Future means "hardback teaser material for our future softback books."
I don't know if I'd go that far. The toolkit approach works out pretty good. It gives a very usable base to use. In fact, I would bet that many groups never add onto the base system. All the while, if WotC deems that one area or another is worthy of expansion, they'll put out another book further fleshing it out. It's not like their putting out incomplete material.

Yeah, it may have come out more harsh than I meant, but that was because when I saw the MP as XP thing and the Mutant AdC, the first thing I thought was that it was "that's cool, that should have been a core d20 Future rule."

At the very least take it as high praise for the author.
