Heh,

There's on old line that goes "And the meek shall inherit the Earth because the strong are going to the stars." If you look at post-humanism themes of evolution to a digital existence and other forms you could form a post apocalyptic scenario with those who have been left behind.

Think big fortresses for digital environments in a wasteland of abandoned human infrastructure. If you've read Greg Bear, Greg Egan, and some of the other transhuman authors you could come up with a host of different ideas.
