fantasy world with dinosaurs? always struck me as really wierd, two ideas that don't go together. I just had a dream with a 6 or 7 foot high t-rex in it, though, and I could see adding that to a d&d campaign. So how many of you use dinosaurs? do you use a lot of them, or a very few? Lastly, anyone make changes to them to fit them in thematically with d&d?

I could see them in a D20 modern campaign as from Jurrasic Park experimentation.

btw, the small t-rex took 8 shots from my pistol. I guess that's about 7 HD, eh?

My cleric got ate by a T-Rex. Monsters with Swallow Whole always went after me; after suriving the T-Rex attack, a Remorhaz died right before reaching me and a purple worm missed on its attempt to eat my character. If you have Dire animals, Beholders, and all kinds of other crazy monsters, I don't see how dinosaurs make any less sense.

Broncosaurus Rex was the first sci-fan setting for d20 (at least I know of) and it revolves around US civil war cultures and (usually intelligent) dinosaurs. I have been trying to find a way of using the intelligent reptiles in Oathbound and I think they are going to find Wildwood and Penance very comfy.

Just don't call 'em dinosaurs, and everything is fine. As has been said, there's animals, Beholders and undead, what the spork is wrong with a few rampaging dinos?

And Barsoomcore, the eternal truth is that monkeys and fire make everything better.

would monkeys and fire solve a rampaging dinosaur, or the other way around?

honestly, my problem with dinosaurs is just imagining them in a fantasy setting. Once I can create a plausable yarn about how they still exist alongside abberations & dragons, I'm sure I'll adjust.

I am running a Steampunk campaign, of course there is a lost world, Professor Challenger himself says so! (Arthur Conan Doyle's 'other' hero.)
