d20 Middle Earth "Eagle of the Star" (IC)

"Oooh, Aye. 'Twas a fine adventure that one. Gold, Money and a Dragon at the end! But we lost many a fine fellow that time, finer fellows than these elves here. There we were! Fighting dragons, goblins and wolves and the elves were hidin' away in their little trees!"

Balin spits on the floor and goes very red. He starts stomping about cursing about "damned elves" and the like. Eventually he calms down enough to check on his wounded fellow dwarf..

"Can yer talk friend?"

Legolas scoffs at Balin's insults, then says, "shall we continue on to Lorien now? I take it that is where everyone is going... "

OOC: Unless I'm totally confused were on our way to Rivendale.

You're both totally confused :D It's not Lorien or Rivendale, it's Rivendell you're headed towards. Oops! I'm not supposed to be in this thread ... yet :D:D:D

OOC: errrr my mistake.... sorry about that... I thought we were going to Lorien... We should obviosly go by Rivendell and go straight to Lorien... LOL:p

Amid the "discussion" of elves and dwarf, Thorongil's charge begins to stir. Hearing Balin's query,"Can yer talk friend?" the wounded figure looks with a weary expression at all gathered around him. His eyes lock on Balin, and weakly he mouths.."water..where am I?..".

As the dwarf awakes, first Haldir, then Legolas, and then the rest hear the faint sounds of singing, in elvish, across the river and the woods to the east, in the direction of Rivendell:

Earendil was a mariner
that tarried in Arvernien;
he built a boat of timber felled
in Nimbrethil to journey in..

The musical voices are hard to make out and the song becomes neither stronger nor weaker; however, the singers seem to be moving somewhere beyond the ford.

(EDIT: 8 PM-clarified direction and language of singers. My apologies guys.)

"You are on the banks of the ford of Rivendell, but amongst safe company now."

Turning to the rest of the company Halbarad announces, "perhaps we should journey on to Lord Elrond's house and see if he can do aught to speed the recovery of our wounded companion. Besides, Thorongil here has a message to carry to the family of Elrond", Halbarad exchanges a knowing look with his kinsman, "which he would deliver sooner rather than later."

Legolas:
"now that our new friend is conscious we should get moving, i really dont want those wildmen to come back in greater numbers."
OOC: Saying that before hearing the singing.

Hearing the singing Legolas whispers, "what was that? You all stay here with the dwarf, Haldir come with me. Lets go see what that is."
