[d20 Modern] Fallout?

Dust

First Post
Anyone else here planning on making use of d20 Modern to play a game set in the Fallout world? The d20 system seems an especially good match for the system in the games, especially with the ways Feats fill in for Perks exactly.

The nice thing about the Fallout setting is that it has many elements in common with Gamma World. In fact if it were to be compared to D&D, traditional Gamma World would be the Forgotten Realms while Fallout would be more like Greyhawk. I think D20 modern might be a good way to handle the setting, but so too would be the just released Omega World.

The fact is that Fallout is a small chunk of the US after a nuclear hollocaust, and it has rules for mutants, ancient technology, and radiation. The only real difference between that and Omega World is really just the specifics of the setting. Of course since Omega World is lacking many specifics, there's really not a lot that needs to be fiddled with. Maybe create a new player race or two, and you're effectively there. Heck, the brotherhood of Steel armor is pretty much covered by Relic Armageddon armor.

To answer your question, yes, I am planning a semi long term campaign in a setting containing many elements from Fallout using Omega World rules. It would be interesting to convert the perks from Fallout to feats if they haven't already been covered.

Fallout Yes YES! not sure about using D20 Modern for it though, certainly feasible but I myself plan on running a Fallout game at some point through the Darwins World ruleset.

Perks as Feats absolutley
Add Ghouls, Deathclaws, Humanoid robots, Super mutants and lots more stuff I have a pile of paper notes on this subject :)

I'm seriously considering for creating a Fallout inspired game from D20 Modern. It really sounds like it could work very well for that type of game. I'll think more about it once D20 Modern comes out. :)

If I'm going to use D20 Modern to run a post apocalyptic world based on a video game, Then I'm going to use the best game made- Wasteland! The daddy of Fallout. Any of you who are fallout fans who havent played Wasteland!, what are you wating for?

would fallout d20 be good if it was a cross of Darwin's World and some Gamma World?

Hmm... interesting statment. I would consider Darwin's World a cross between Gamma World and Fallout.

It's like Gamma world because PCs are normally mutanted (as are the monsters). However, its not nearly as silly (which is my main gripe with Gamma World).

The tone and setting is more like fallout. It's a dark post apoc themed gamed intended for mature gamers.
