D20 Modern fans might want to see this...

I'm no rocket scientist, but when I see a link to a file called "d20 Ad", I kinda get the feeling it's, well, probably going to be an ad...

Can't argue with that.

But this is still not the place for it.

That thing's black-and-white and a whole Meg in size? Why not make it a jpg file, which would be a couple of KB. Or at least distill it properly.

Also, I must agree with the others here: An Ad that picks on something I like will hardly be successful with me (in fact, I'm quite stubborn with such things, and tend to avoid that company altogether).

For some reason this makes me not want to purchase Power Corrupts from your company as I was planning to. It looked interesting, and not very costly being a pdf, but I restrict myself to buying from people who's advertising practices I don't feel disgusted by.

Besides all the waiting, is that picture that graphic even appropriate on a board that frowns on swearing due to the presence of minors?

Must have been on autofire...anyways, d20m rules comments aside...

Hmm somebody doesn't know there D20 Modern rules if it was autofire only one bullet would have hit him. That must be burst fire. :D

This is extremely distastefull!
Especially when the person behind Haven is such an increadible anti D20 freak. I vote for removal of this topic.

Btw, use of the D20 Modern trade name might constitute an infringement (used without permission). Wonder if WotC wants to hear about this...

It's an advertisement. TV commercials do this sort of thing all the time...

Edit: in the United States at least.

I personally didn't see what the big deal was.

A one page ad that hints that Haven is the game d20 Modern doesn't want you to know about.

Next we'll see a Troll Slayer using Power Attack against an Ogre in an ad for Warhammer, the game D&D doesn't want you to know about.

There are tons of games out there. The anti-d20 stance isn't strong in the ad or anything but it's there and on these boards, well, perhaps it's just not the best place for it?

I own both Haven: city of violence and d20 Modern.

I admire the work that has gone into Haven, the art and layout is VERY impressive and the work that has gone into it shows.

On the other hand, I get fed up with Mr Porter's advertising methods, constantly seeming to be on the attack against the d20 market, whereas he also sells to the d20 market in the form of actual d20 modules as well as his marketing the 'modern day maps' PDFs directly at the d20 modern crowd.
