[D20 Modern] Me and my girlfriend...

First Post
Currently on a D20 Modern kick while perusing the SRD and waiting for my copy from Amazon, I was inspired to stat myself and my girlfriend up as D20 Modern PC's - using clever pseudonyms, of course. Thoughts?

Society, however, only wanted to be served by those with longer resumes, so Lee found himself in the private sector. He hopes to serve the public in a meaningful way someday.

To paraphrase:

"Cool. Kinda neat. Not entirely reflective of me, but as good as you're likely to do in an RPG."

So, no, she didn't kick my butt or anything. :)

wow.

You know, you could have just sent us a resume if you wanted to play with us.

J/K!!! :D

LOL!!

That's funny. :D

Well, at least know you know what our CR's are if we get out of hand. :)

This biggest trouble was putting us as level one PCs. We're 24 and 25, and are in or have completed grad school. You'd expect an XP award somewhere along the way. :)

But, I decided it was easier than trying to gauge what levels we "really" are. Being your own DM is a bit... immodest at best. :p

That's cool. I was just curious as it's interesting to hear others reactions. :D

Yup. In a similar vein to her response, there are some things I just don't see a way to interpret. For example, I'm a fairly skilled volleyball and basketball player, but there's no way to reflect that. And she should have ranks in Perform (Cello), but it's a cross class skill for dedicated, and there are only so many skill points to spread around.

Well, they really need a sport skill to work like perform. Personally, I'd pull some of the maxed skills skill points away to refelct the cello ability. I always had a hard time determining the real world difference between 3 and 4 ranks in a skill. :D

Yeah, Sport (Volleyball) would work - but then I'd have to take it cross-class, since it'd only be a class skill for Strong and Fast Heroes. ;) (Side Note: I was trying for a PbP game to create a high school baseball player, but no skills, not even Athlete skills, made sense. Climb? Tumble? Swim? Nope. Where's the "Hit Curveball" skill? )

As for the Perform skills for her, well, she also's been in choirs. So that'd be two Performs to invest in. Plus, I want the maxed Knowledge skills to reflect the things she actually learned in grad school - it just seems like a more primary aspect since she's spent so much more time on it.

And BTW - who decided non-Charismatic Heroes couldn't carry a tune? :D D20 Modern is MUCH better than D&D in opening up the class skill lists, but some things are still odd. And yes, I know a Creative could take Perform as a class skill, but again, it's a question of priority - she's much more a Doctor than a Creative.
