d20 Modern: No casters ?

i think its just like the Psionics Handbook, but without the attack/defense stuff

But I didn't see any core classes on it, so is it an advanced class like the Wizard or possible a feat and skill system.

i'm pretty sure it's an advanced class (which is why i made the comment a few posts up), and it's set up just like a Mage, IIRC, with powers from levels 0 thru 5 over ten levels of the class, etc.

Some of the advanced classes, the ones tied to the sample campaign settings, were intentionally held back from the SRD version of d20 Modern. The printed book has all of them.

all of them. unless i've overlooked them, the only advanced classes are specialized versions of the basic classes

Basic Class1... Advanced Class
Strong....... Soldier; Martial Artist
Fast...... Gunslinger; Infiltrator
Tough...... Daredevil; Bodyguard
Smart..... Field Scientist; Techie
Dedicated..... Field Medic; Investigator
Charismatic.... Personality; Negotiator

Each advanced class is listed with the base class that can reach that advanced class the quickest. It is possible for someone playing a different base class to get the prerequsites necessary for a particular advanced class, but it takes longer.

Which means a Smart Hero can become a Martial Artist, but not as soon as a Strong Hero could.

d20 Modern is set up for multiclassing. Take a few levels of this, and a few levels of that, and you end up with a PC that can take the advanced class you wish. But it does take foresight and planning. A Dedicated Gunslinger? Possible, but be prepared to work for it.

Actually, I would not be surprised if the webmaster of the PULP HEROES fan site would try to incorporate that mini-game setting to d20 Modern.

The advanced classes kept out of the SRD were the ones form the various campaign settings,

Shadowchasers: Shadowslayer class, and Occultist class
Agents of Psi: Telepath class, and BattleMind class
Urban Arcana: Mage class, and Acolyte class

All the non-setting specific stuff in the book is SRD

Well that's going to be extremely limiting for third party publishers and fan sites.
