D20 Morrowind?

Apparently the world is based on the campaign setting for a D&D game played by some of the UbiSoft employees.

You meant BethSoft employees, didn't you? The game is developped by Bethesda Softworks, not by Ubi.

I guess so. I just looked at the name on the side of the box and assumed that was the software house.

I think you're all confusing rules and flavour.

To make a d20 version of morrowind, you don't need new rules.

Use the D&D rules as-is, and put together the right flavour, and you're set.

People can brew potions. It's in the game as-is.

You MIGHT want to allow people to satisfy the item-creation pre-reqs using use magic device, merely to allow non-spellcasters to make items and potions.

That's about it. You're done.

then you take their super-valuable stuff and sell it and live like a king on the mainland for the rest of your life.
Heh, kings must live pretty poorly, then. Noone can afford daedric weapons at their full list value.

Player: "Hey, I got this neat daedric battleaxe that's worth 65 thousand gold, wanna buy it?"

Merchant: "Sure. I've got 3k in available cash, and a barter stock that even if you cleared me out would come to maybe a fifth of the value of that weapon. Oh, and 90% of that stock you don't want in any way. But I mean if it's just burning a hole in your pocket, I'd be happy to help out..."

You wanna sell stuff, you gotta go to Mournhold (from the Tribunal expansion).

Don't know about the mud-crab merchant missed that guy apparently, but morhold please the 3 big item mecahnts get at most 9 or 10 grand and maybe 10-20 more in inventory. The good thing about them is 2 of them buy potions for a total of 17 grand in potions sold and a price to make of about 200gp. And heck that potion heals 13ish hp a tick for 30ish seconds, and like 50 fatigue for 2 minutes or so. The stock you don't sell makes you like indestructable.

There was a demon looking guy in one of the houses in the first town north of the big city with all the quests - the first big city you arrive at when you start the game. He had more cash and paid more than the mud crab guy - was at least 15k

Good old Creeper.. I never even bothered trying to find the talking Mudcrab; old Creeper was much more convenient to visit.

Anyways, I advocate statting Morrowind out in D&D rules. The magic system is problematic but not entirely impossible to work around by using the alternate magic systems presented in Unearthed Arcana.

A good baseline to start from would be to stat the major races of Morrowind and Tamriel in general.
