All I know is that it is planned to be late middle ages to 1944. The book is being done in the same style as d20 future.

Softcover? Wasn't there a big to-do a few years back that Wizards wasn't doing softcovers anymore, that they didn't sell as well, etc.?

Does anyone have a link to this I am looking on the wizards site and a google but nothing? I have never heard of this sounds...interesting at least.

I seem to remember reading something about how they could release 1 hardcover for d20 Modern a year or 2-3 softcovers, and so they went with the latter, as they could cover more subjects.

Since apparently d20 Modern stuff doesn't sell as well as their other lines. Which is a shame, because I would really like to see a lot more historical d20 Modern stuff. It's really hard to cover even a small era in a small book, much less 500 years or so, too.

Looks like it will incorporate Progress Levels from d20 Future [originally from Alternity].

Smart money says particular love will be given to the Age of Pirates, the Victorian Age [both steampunk and Gothic horror], and either the Pulp Era or WWII [or both].

Given the tendency in other d20 Modern products to revamp and reuse old settings, I wouldn't be suprised to see some stuff from Pulp Heroes [the d20 Modern version, from Polyhedron] --- maybe the mad science rules, for example. Boot Hill, Masque of the Red Death [maybe not, since it's already licensed out], Agent 13, and For Faerie Queen and Country could easily make an appearance [in some form].

And nice hats. Bowlers, stovepipe hats, fedoras, maybe some crazy feathered musketeer hats.

A couple of nice big furry shakos and lots o' turbans for one of my campaign ideas, pith helmets and kepis for another...

Yes, but that was for the Dungeons & Dragons line. WotC has said they are switching to softcovers with d20 Modern this year so they can get out more products than they could with hardcovers.
