D20 Werewolf the Apocalypse, any interest?

I for onr think this is a game just begging for D20. Of all the storyteller games it revolves around combat the most, and has many easily converted game mechanics. For example:

The trbes would be like a charcter race with appropriate bonus and draw backs. Get of fenris would maybe get a +2 to str and a -2 to wis or int. The fianna could get a +2 con -2 wis and so on and so on.

Auspices would be like classes. Ahroun would be the fighter, Ragabash the rogue, Etc..

Shape shifting would giv you bonus to your stats per form. Glabro +2 str +2 con, Crinos +8 str +2 dex +4 con, with appropriate minuses to wis, int and cha. Or something like that.

It would take some work but I think it could be done pretty easily. I have always loved the werewolf wolrd but always thought it suffered some from the stroyteller system. not that i mind the storyteller system, I think it works great for Vampire.

Any other ideas than my rough hastily thrown together ones.

As long as it's not set in the "World of Darkness", I don't see any problems. Not that World of Darkness hasn't already been ported into d20 with Shadow Chasers...

Fascinating...

Hmm. When I first read the title of the post I figured I was going to disagree with you--I don't really mind the Storyteller system all that much, I thought that perhaps d20 wouldn't work very well for Werewolf--but reading your ideas I've had a change of heart. Werewolf d20 would be sort of interesting I suppose.

I wouldn't ever expect to see any storyteller d20 conversions coming out as an official product however...the die-hard white wolf players would revolt, LOL.

I have been yearning for a d20 freak legion so I must of course want a d20 werewolf.

The only problem is that the character creation / combat rules will have to be severely adjusted so much so you could not comply with the standard d20 thing of you have to use PHB char creation.

Call of Cthulhu was an easy conversion[ I think they should of kept Size in place of HD and armor be damage absorbing rather than deflective but that is just me] since the character creation system were always very similar, but WW is vastly different in CC & combat and may prove a challenge

If you look into the conversions forum you might find my similar thread. I got as far as making up the stats for the different forms.
I'd be really interested in seeing this game, but I'd make a few adjustments: don't copy the classes straight from the book as they are, because they won't fit in too well with the Werewolf Auspices. I think it could be smart to try to go classless, but that would propably be too much work.

Avoid porting things directly from the storyteller version. The two systems are too different for that to work. You will obtain a better result if you think up all the characters and situations that occur in most werewolf game and then create d20 rules that model those characters and situations.

The storyteller games already have strong archetypes, so using classes should work fine. Don't assume that you need one tribe = one class, though. Other divisions could work better.
