d5 uses?

d5 determines which character in a 5 PC party is attacked at random.
And if other posters were not blind to begin with, they might wish they were now. :p

;) j/k

d5s are cool. Along with d7s, d9s, d11s and suchlike, a whole new range of possibilities is there for your use in RPGs.

But hey, I likes dem stange dices.

1. Roll to see which finger is removed by Jack Baur during interrogation
2. Roll random working day of the week
3. Damage for a serrated dagger?
4. Random direction when lost (where 1, 2, 3, 4 = N, S, E, W and 5 = Ravenloft)
5. 4d5 to replace d20. Better weighted average
6. Random class. (1,2,3,4,5 = Fighter, Rogue, Cleric, Ranger, Wizard/Sorcerer)
7. Random race (1,2,3,4,5 = Human, Elf/Half-Elf, Dwarf, Half-Orc, Halfling/Gnome)

To name a few :)

Surely for 6 and 7 you'd use a d6 and d8, respectively, to save from rolling twice??? ;)

/pedantry.

Sorry. Couldn't help it...

(Note to self: Take a level in Cleric to improve Will save)

I've been using d5s to determine the amount of GP on some muggers after a street fight during our last Ptolus session.
Also, if you're playing a Crusader from the Book of Nine Swords, the d5 can become handy to determine your maneuvers at the start of an encounter.

For a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Game :). Several instances of having to half a d10 there.

Yeah, like how many extra eyes grow on your face after you've been carrying around that mysterious pink glowing stone...
