D500 Magic Items

Dark Jezter said:
Thanks, Demiurge and Orius. I thought I'd heard about a similar item somewhere before.

Heh. I don't know how you could forget it, it's one of the most unforgettable cursed items. And like Demiurge, I've used it to mess with my players.

It's my favorite cursed item. Why? Because it's absolutely harmless, yet it bothers the hell out of players. :)

18) Bastion of Dawn: This necklace detects as nonmagical most of the time. However, when is set upon by the light of the first rays of the rising sun, grants the wearer DR 25/- and immunity to all elements for 1 minute.

Bardic Knowlege check of 20 recalls that the necklace was forged in one night by a council fo 20 wizards and a high priest of pelor to ward against the oncoming invasion of demons set up them. They gave it to their highest champion, Hineophon, as the light of the dawn approached the city and unvealed the massive army flying into destroy them. With the necklaces power, Hineophon defeated the entire army. The necklace has lost a lot of its power, but still gains strength from the sun.

DC 30: The high priest named the necklace Endial, after his wife. Saying this name to the necklace will cause it to sing softly to its wearer in the sound of that priest's wife.

19 Banner of the Bleeding Eye: This war banner is made from a heavy black velvet. A bleeding eye that drips actual blood is depicted upon the banner. When held aloft all creatures with orc blood whithin 120 feet recieve the benifits of the bless spell, while those without orc blood suffer the effects of a Bane spell [DC 13]. Any Dwarf or Elf that is within 20 feet of the banner ta the time of its destruction must roll a will save [dc 16] or be cursed in some manner.

I don't have them in front of me so these are from memory

20) Mask of Favored Enemy
This is a mundane mask but when worn by a character who can have a favored enemy this grants an extra favored enemy with a +1 bonus to all skills, attacks and damage when dealing with that enemy, specified by the name of the mask (i.e. Mask of Giants). If the character already has that favored enemy then this mask gives a +2 to all related skills, and combat towards that enemy.(See Ranger, Favored Enemy)

21) Ring of Cantrips
A favored item for wizards on their first adventures this ring gives the ability to cast most cantrips 10/times a day. Cantrips excluded from the list are any cantrips that cause damage or causes a creature to make a fort save.

22) Blindfold of Blindsight.

This blindfold cuts off all normal vision (darkvision, low-light vision), but grants Blindsight (30'? 60?). Wearing or removing the blindfold is a full-round action.

23. Ring of Saves. This metal band has three gems set in it. Each time the wearer fails a saving throw of any type, one gem cracks and the wearer is treated as if the save was successful. The ring operates automatically if worn: the wearer cannot choose to fail a save. Once all three gems are cracked, the ring becomes non-magical. CL 13, Forge Ring, limited wish.

24)Brooch of Elvenblood: This ornate silver cloak brooch bears the holy symbol of Corellon Larethion, the patron deity of Elves. However, the symbol is more a mockery than anything else. Created by foul wizards, the adornment is imbued with the blood of sacrificial Elves. Whomever wears the brooch gains a +2 bonus to their Dexterity score and a -2 penalty to their Constitution score, as per the Elven racial trait. If the bearer is already an elf, the effects stack. Additionally, any bearer of the item incurs a -2 penalty to all Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Intimidate, and Perform checks that are directed at one or more elves (excepting Drow and Half-Elves). Most merchants who sell this ware are of generally questionable scruples and usually try to tell the prospective customer that it's a Holy item created by elves.

25) The Fighter Spiter: A rod, made from a gnarly oak branch. It can be wielded as mw club. Any metal it comes into contact with is subjected to lightning fast flashes of hot and cold, causing instant metal fatigue. Technically it drains 2d6 hitpoints from any metal object (Reflex Dc 14 for half). Magical items with casterlevel 7 or higher (i.e. higher than the rods casterlevel) are immune to this effect.

Prerequisites: Craft Rod, Heat Metal, Chill Metal, casterlevel 6

26) Bladesman's Gauntlets: These mithril gauntlets bestow upon the wearer proficiency with all martial swords. Once per day the wearer can invoke a blade barrier at caster level 10.

Item Creation rules?

To make these items better, could we add the requirements and the costs for the non-unique items?
