I don't think that sticky thread has existed for very long. I would guess it didn't exist when he was creating his mess. Or that it came into existance during the phase in which he believed he knew what he was doing. My point is he thought he knew what he was doing and he probably started (and "completed") his research well before Dec 9. Yes, it's a great resource now to stop the next person from doing this.
