Everyone's mentioned the SRD, the OGF, and a number of other resources, but I'd also suggest (if someone hasn't already) that Strutinan look at the sticky thread at the top of the Publishers messageboard. IT has LOTS of links on educating yourself about d20 publishing and writing.

Ummm, actually I did...

I don't think that sticky thread has existed for very long. I would guess it didn't exist when he was creating his mess. Or that it came into existance during the phase in which he believed he knew what he was doing. After the world crashed down around him, someone did mention that thread (probably the auldgrump).

Or I'm completely wrong.

December 9. It might not have been up when he initially worked on the project, but the important thing is that it's available now for him to fix his stuff and at least get his product to market.

My point is he thought he knew what he was doing and he probably started (and "completed") his research well before Dec 9. Yes, it's a great resource now to stop the next person from doing this. But in his case, the horse was already out of the barn and dead and beaten down so much it didn't look like a horse any more.

has anyone downloaded it since he got the go ahead to repost it and checked it? Is it still as kick a** as the first version supposedly was?

I have.

A lot of text in the power descriptions is very close to what's not SRD material. I'd say about 85% is the same with a word changed here and there.

I'm still not happy with my purchase but I didn't expect to be. I just hope we don't lose potential PDF customers who happen to purchase this thing first.

Sorry, I can't sit idly by why somebody purposefully misrepresents my product.

Chameleon, Disolving Touch, Ectoplasmic Cocoon, Incarnate, Matter Rearrangement, Mind Switch, Polymorph Self, and Psychic Vampire.

Those are the ONLY powers that have be described in enough detail as to make thier PsiHB counterparts unneccessary to read. All the other powers either have an extra paragraph or two of added description, and/or a couple of sentances changed.

There is NO "only a word or two have been changed" powers in the book, NONE. All of the flavor and mechanics text for PsiHB powers is MINE, and is not the way it was presented in the PsiHB. Because of this, it is not only OGL-safe (as WotC already approved it as such!), but also MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY!

If THAT is your reason for being dissappointed with your purchase, I am sorry for you. What about all the other material in the book? What specifically did you find objectionable?

Of course, if somebody else want to use these revised descriptions, they can contact me vial e-mail to discuss the possibility.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing.

Two Examples

Psychic Vampire
Psionics Handbook: Your successful melee touch attack drains 2 power points/level from your foe and transfers them immediately to you.

Psionics Companion: Your successful melee touch attack drains 1d6 + manifester level in power points from your foe, and immediately adds them to you.

Sequester
Psionics Handbook: This power not only prevents Clairsentience powers from working to detect or locate the creature or object affected by sequester, it also renders the affected creature or object invisible to any form of sight or seeing.

Psionics Companion: This power not only prevents Clairsentience powers from working to detect or locate the creature or object affected by sequester, but it also protects it from all forms of magical detection and location, as well as rendering it invisible to any form of sight or seeing.
