Dara: Traitor, enemy, ally?

"Dara, I must ask you again: where - specifically - did you learn of this so-called line of the Apecto. This is of the utmost importance to me." She stares at the strange woman intently. "I must also know when you left Aregonn's service."
"I left Aregonn's service months ago - I was spirited away by Jansten's followers, though I had been working as a thrall of the Deathlord. I learned of the Apectan line more than once. Your grandfather's heresy is hardly a secret, though you have no elevated him to the head of the old superstition. He clearly believes it, and you believe in him - tell me you do not!"

"Apart from that, it is as I told you. The belief is common in the north: a curse."

"You are dancing around the questions I ask. 'Months ago' could mean nearly anything - when, specifically, did you leave his service? How did Jansten's people spirit you away? ... and maybe more importantly, why?"

She looks shocked. "Why am I being interrogated, here?"

"We have an interest in all that are working for our cause, Dara. As a member of a powerful rebellion, you must understand the importance of knowing the how individuals came to be within your ranks." Trying to look and sound a leader, Justice continues, "This is certainly not an interrogation, simply questioning to fully understand those with substantial power that have found themselves tied to our Cause."

Smiling to herself, she rings to L'Aurel, "If this was and interrogation, Archonus would be here."

"For the last time, I am not a part of your rebellion. I am a part of his!" she shouts, indicating Jansten.

"His rebellion has become a part of ours. Jansten has sworn a mortal, eternal Oath to serve our cause - our respective rebellions have become part of each other, Dara. As such, you must understand the desire to truly know about powerful people linked so closely to your Cause."

"I understand your desire, but I hold no responsibility to it. I will not be treated as a criminal - as some sort of conspirator - for the amusement of the Circle of the Phoenix, even if my Lord Fitzquaron had joined it. He may be a part of your rebellion, but it could not spare a thought for me while I was in the deepest throes of the Bluestar's influence. I was abandoned, when one of your number could have at least tried to...to do something."

She catches her breath. "He did not, and so I shall depend on no one who has not earned my trust. Jansten has. You have not."

"Trust requires the input of both parties, Dara. If there is information you want from us - by all means ask away! If there is something we can do for you - please, make your requests known! If we have given you a reason to withold your trust, tell us now - if not, we may have a reason to withhold ours.

These are questions that are not sensitive - I would think that you would love to tell the tales of your release for the Bluestar's grasp. You seem to care quite deeply for Jansten, why not tell the story of your rescue at his hands?"

**Rings - There is something very strange about her outburst and her reluctance. Why would she want to hold back such information? What could her reasons be?**
