So you're under the impression that not being impressed with their choice of plot equates to not wanting a plot at all. Interesting.

I know only what you said. If you meant something else, you should have said something else.

Futher, you asked me to provide an instance of someone saying the Hulk shouldn't have a plot. I did that. Was there some other component to your argument besides that?

oh come on, mattcolville -
how do you expect people to take you seriously when you say:
Because people thought there was too much wasted story bits, that didn't need to be there (gamma-nano-bot-rads, blah blah, father's early experimentations, etc) you turn around and say that those people are saying there shouldn't have been any plot.

Sorry, but most rational people can understand that "take away some unneeded things" does not = "take away everything."

Well, we certainly have people here who said a Hulk story doesn't need a plot. Where that leaves you, I cannot say.

i feel i was trying to point out what i thought people meant and was being mis-interpreted and i wound up starting trouble.

I will try once more.

People are saying that NO PLOT wouldve been preferable to THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE.

BUT, OBVIOUSLY, a GOOD plot would have been the best scenario.

is that explanation working?

My vote is Hulk. Hands down. The CGI wasn't my favorite, but I got used to it. But I thought Hulk was better written and much better acted. Ben Affleck can't act his way out of a tin can, unless he's playing a Boston construction worker with a genius as a best friend.

Though I'll admit, Jennifer Garner definitely spiced up Daredevil. Made it well worth watching. :)

Obviously not.

Who says I meant something else?

Nope. Just curious to see if you could back up your left field claim. You said
"Except that the guy I was responding to WAS complaining about the existence of a plot."
The "guy you were responding to" was me, not Ankh-Morpork Guard. Funny you had to go back and pull a quote from the beginning of the thread rather than just restate the "complaint" you were apparently responding to in the first place. Oh wait, I never made such a complaint. Thanks for playing.

Matcolville:

I wasn't complaining about plot. I LIKED the plot of Hulk. I was simply stating that Hulk doesn't need a strong plot at all...it didn't have a strong plot, it had a fairly average one, which is MORE than I had expected.

First off, I'm not a fan of either comic, though I've seen both movies.

Hulk's special effects were absolutely horrible, but I liked the movie anyways. The plot worked for me, and there's something just neat about a huge green guy ripping the warhead out of a missile with his teeth.

Daredevil was simply okay. Bull's-eye was cool, but otherwise I didn't care about anyone in that movie. Kingpen was defeated way too easily and I kinda expected a big-name character like Elektra to actually be able to hold her own (as opposed to getting slaughtered). Oh well.

Well, he isn't exactly a supervillian in that 'classic' sense...sure he's extremely strong, but his 'power' is in his connections and his organization. So that didn't really bother me when DD beat him down.

THIS one was right out of the comics, though. So its not the movie's fault at all...in fact, I loved that it was exactly like the comic, shot for shot. One of the best parts of the movie for me.
