Dark Revelations

I am in th process of writing a new d20 game....its called Dark Revelations and is set on our world. I'm going to stick more to a fantasy d20 approach to a to a Dark Modern setting as apposed to the way d20 Modern and Shadow Chasers is doing modern stuff.... basically the setting envolves a Grand Divine war between Heaven and Hell that has poured into earth....and both places are slowing becoming one with the world....also there is another realm outside of our own called the Lands of Nod (similar to the ethereal and/or shadow planes)....

Character Races will include:

Mortal Races:
- Humans ----> Mundane Lineage
- Aasimar ----> Celestial Lineage
- Kinder ------> Vampiric Lineage
- Tiefling -----> Fiendish Lineage

Angelic Races:
- Nephilim ---->The Lowest of the fallen angels (daemons)
- Seraphim ---> The lowest of the angelic choirs

Vampiric Houses: (Vampiric "races" will be attributed to Vampiric Houses)
- House Ahriman ----> The Arcane
- House Drakis ------> The "Kings"
- House Erapis ------> The Divine
- House Nimerix -----> The Stealthy
- House Paramour --> The Charismatic
- House Taralim -----> The Warriors
- House Zagalo -----> The Guardians

Basically the Angels(Celestials) rule Heaven...The Daemons (Fiends) rule Hell, The Vampires rule the Lands of Nod and the Humans Rule Earth....and as this Age is coming to an end...All four realms are starting to collide and meld into one.....

...essentially the angels were created before time....the daemons are fallen angels...the humans are descendant from Seth (3rd son of adam and eve)...the Vampires are descendant from Cain (1st son of adam and eve....) after he was banished to the Lands of Nod...
...As far as cosmology would go it would naturally be heaven is above and hell is below with each having its own layers....and then Earth (aka Eden) would be in middle with the Lands of Nod surrounding it and acting as a gateway to earth for heaven and hell........

My plan is fully develop the setting and release books in pdf format ....I plan on making the setting a free one as well...

any opinions, ideas, feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Cain killed Abel and then roamed to the lands east of Eden, Nod, where he built the first city of Enoch (named after his first son)

Adam and Eve had a child named Seth.

Not to mention Adams first wife ... Lilith

Yep....I plan on writing a little bit of an alternate mythology.....

Abel is the first son of Adam and Eve and was also the shephard of animals....then Cain is born to Adam and Eve and becomes the harvester of plant life....but when Cain's sacrifice isn't accepted by God...and Abel's is....Cain decides that the next time we would give his brother(Abel) as sacrifice since Abel is the one thing he loves the most...and is banished to the Realms of Nod....a plane of eternal night outside of eden that connects heaven and hell to earth....He then fathers the vampiric races and builds the legendary city of Enoch.....meanwhile Adam and Eve have a 3rd son..Seth, who fathers the human race......so the humans rule eden while the vampires rule Nod.....

As a historical / mythology note: Abel was the second son (Genesis 4: 1-2).

This background sounds suspiciously close to that of Vampire: the Masquerade. Very similar to the "history" described in White Wolf's "Book of Nod".

Thanks for the correction....I'll make sure to fix the son order.....as far as the background....what I've mentioned thus far is really the only similarity between my vampire background and white wolf's..... Mine and theres is very similar up to when cain is banished to Nod....(which that portion is actually from the bible...not written by White Wolf)

In my writings... Cain is not a vampire...but is actually still human...he does take on lilith as a wife....(Lilith is a Nephilim Sorceress in my writings) and the combination of cain's human lineage and Lilith's angelic/sorcerous lineage and the actual essence of the Realms of Nod (which is kinda similar to the demiplane of shadow) transformed cain and lilith's children into Vampires, which are native to the lands of Nod.....and because of the nature of nod..(it being a land of eternal night) that is why vampires are harmed by sunlight,etc....vampires are not evil by nature in my writings either....it just happens that while most vamps are content with their life in nod...a few did venture into eden (aka earth) and most of those were actually evil ones ..

The bloodlust and need to drink blood is inherited from Lilith who was cursed when she fell from grace and became a daemon....

The houses of vampires come from the ruling houses of Kingdom of Enoch...They are not founded by direct children of Cain and Lilith as in White Wolf's mythology but more by legendary Vampiric Heroes......

A Few Examples.......
- Drakis was the first Vampire to rule Enoch (after cain's ascension into divinity)
- Ahriman was the most honored and most powerful of Vampiric Wizards....he also was a very powerful sorceror
- Erapis was the first to achieve the blessings of cain after his ascension and thus became the first cleric of cain and founded the church of cain.

Dark Revelations will also present to "worlds" to explore...initially...

Eden (aka Earth) : This will be the earth we know but in the near future....when Hell has started to manifest itself upon the world....with demonic castles and lakes of fire start to rise from the ground in various locations...etc..etc..etc

Nod : This will be a dark reflection of Eden where the vampire kingdoms rule...and is more akin to the Dark Ages and High fantasy...there will be portals throughout eden to these realms...
the very same portals used by the daemons and angels to enter Eden actually...

This sounds like something that is right up my alley.

Please, keep us posted on your progress. Is this just something you are working on for fun, or do you plan to publish and sell it?
